Hello, has anyone skipped the group b strep test before ??

Yea, it shouldn’t be like a pap at all. The qtip doesn’t go in that far for them to need a speculum at all. Just a quick swab of the V, run the qtip to the B, quick swab of the B

Nope. It can seriously hurt your baby if you are positive and without a verified negative they will make you hang 2 bags of iv antibiotics before you can have pain meds when in labor. ( I know this because my oldest was born at 36weeks and I hand t had my test yet) It is a non invasive test swabbing the outside of you not inside like a pap. Personally it’s a silly thing to decline. I am aware it could still change status and be positive at delivery even if you were negative at 36weeks but it is not that common for that to occur and it’s an unwarranted risk.

No. If you don’t have it at an appointment they give it to you in the hospital before or after labor

The strep B test isn’t done by insertion of a swab the just swab the outside of your poon and near your gooch
