Practical ways to make your birth better by Siobahan Miller

I've read "How to grow a baby and push it out' by Clemmie Hooper which was quite an easy read and a good place to start. I'm now reading 'Childbirth without Fear' which is taking me ages as it's really wordy but interesting looking at the physiology of pain and the psychology around fear, as I want as natural a birth as possible if I can. Think it'll take me the next 6 months to finish it though 🤣 my other half bought 'DON'T PANIC!: All the Stuff the Expectant Dad Needs to Know' by George Lewis. I've read more of it than he has to be honest, but it's really funny and geared towards Dads which I think is helpful 😊

Thanks both, great recommendations - I have ordered a couple of those.

You can also listen to a lot of them for free on Spotify. I do that when driving.

Pros and cons to all books I think and depends what you’re looking for Expecting better - Emily Oster myth busts some things that lots of women panic about or that there is a lot of stigma around- there are lots of bits I found useful to ease anxiety and some I didn’t agree with but felt it was a good read Your baby week by week - quite a good starter on what to expect in the first few weeks of having baby - all I would say is don’t get bogged down if your baby isn’t doing or not doing things exactly when they say, it’s just a helpful guideline and can help you through those foggy first few months!

I would recommend a book called Matrescence, I found it life changing 😅 and feel much more equipped after reading it.

Ooo good to know @Katrina I’ve just purchased that one

Thanks so much everyone!
