IVF

Hey gals, finally had our fertility clinic consultation today and been told we will need IVF due to MFI. We have an appointment in 2 months to go over everything, and then look at getting booked in to start things off when they have an appointment. We are in Scotland if that makes any difference to anything, but how long after a consultation to go over protocols, treatment plans etc did it take to get started on medications for IVF? What would you guys recommend for this process, anything that helped you, or what you swear by? Thanks girls, just so overwhelmed right now x

You’ll probably have a few months until your egg collection and your partner does his sperm sample so recommend the book it starts with the egg which has really good lifestyle advice and supplement for both of you x

@Hollie yeah he has another analysis booked for October, so before the next meeting we have, but the dr doesn’t think it’ll make a difference treatment wise. Do you mean a few months from now or a few months from our next meeting to go over the treatment and medication plan etc? Xx

After my consultation, they booked in a nurse planning appointment, where they went in to more detail on medication and they planned everything to start with my next cycle. I had to wait quite a bit longer to start my protocol as my cycle day 1 was the day of the nurse planning appointment, so I had to wait until my next one came around 😂 and I have pcos too so I never had a clue when it would arrive. If you are regular, the nurse will go off your period dates and then you’ll have a clear answer and something to look forward to! Best of luck. X

Will you get any testing until that appointment in two months? The book it starts with an egg is good and you can do something proactive while you wait. After i had my appointment i had to wait for my period to start. Then i started birth control and once i stop it stimulation will start. I will have a FET due to high risk of OHSS. So another 6 weeks of waiting…

@Sophie nope, they needed nothing from me other than my AMH bloods I had today as everything was completely fine on my end, no issues found. So we just have to wait for the appointment in 2 months and go from there x

We had ICSI for male factor. First consultation was in May, treatment planning appointment was in July medication started in october, egg collection November, embryo transfer February, baby due in October!
