Low pappa-a

I was sent a letter on the weekend saying I have slightly low Papp-a. I’ve still not been able to get hold of my midwife to get further info but have been taking aspirin since I received the letter but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I have low PAPP-A. I got a call to advise me of this. It puts you into the high risk category and you’ll get more regular monitoring likely. I will get an additional check at my 20 week scan & will get growth scans every 3 weeks in the 3rd trimester. I’ve also had a consultant appointment booked in for 17+5, assuming they’ll go over everything with me then x

Hiya , yeah I have it too. Mines 0.38. I have been taking aspirin since week 13 I think, 17 weeks now all ok but with low Papp we just have to see what our growth scans are like for further info etc. I joined this low Papp facebook support group it’s really helpful as there are loads of mums on there who go on to have normal healthy pregnancies xx

I got a call after my 12 week scan informing me that my blood test showed that I had low Papp-a. Although you can get aspirin over the counter my GP gave me a prescription for it as we’re entitled to get free prescriptions and I had a 16 week consultant appointment a few days after my midwife one. I have also received hospital letters scheduling in growth scans in October, November, December and January and letters scheduling consultant appointments that I’ll have directly after each scan.

Thanks everyone. My letter just said ‘slightly lower than expected’ and I’ve since spoken to my midwife who couldn’t access my actual results but I’m wondering because I didn’t have a call and no one had mentioned consultant appointments if it was a borderline reading? I’ve been taking aspirin anyways and hoping to get my actual results when I see the midwife next week.
