Gestational hypertension

Hi all! Just got diagnosed with gestational hypertension at 36 weeks (I’ll be 37 tomorrow). I’m averaging at 145/95 daily. There was some talk in the hospital about possibly inducing early but still waiting to go to my follow up at the OBGYN. Just curious on other women’s experiences on this topic.

They have diagnosed me with this throughout my pregnancy. But, my blood pressure only elevates sometimes. They are inducing me Thursday because of it. I’ll be 39+5 then. Do you check your blood pressure at home and it’s those numbers?

I have chronic hypertension that was worsened by pregnancy I was induced at 36 weeks about to be 37 bc I reached 160/98 I had high readings and was monitoring it at home got a bad read went to hospital and they said at this point it was safer to induce and not risk it getting worse. Just when you feel off write down the readings and call if it’s high it’s better to be safe than sorry since your almost full term.

@Kelsey I do check at home. It was normal (actually low) throughout my pregnancy and then I suddenly felt a bit off about 2 weeks ago so I started checking at home. Then during my last prenatal appointment, they realized it was pretty elevated and sent me to the hospital for further testing

@Kelsey also good luck on Thursday! Praying for a safe delivery!!

That sounds like me, I’ve had a few spikes that would occur I honestly think it’s white coat syndrome for me but they deemed it as hypertension. So to be safe they have set the induction. I also went to the hospital after one of my visits and they monitored me for awhile. Everything came back fine. So they sent me home. Thank you so much! Good luck to you as well!
