What’s your thoughts on copper coil contraception? (Due to high risk of cancer I’m not able to have any hormonal one , do you recommend or not ? )

Best contraception I have had. I tried the pill, injection, and implant before going onto the coil. I had the copper coil for 6 years with no problems, then had it removed when we were trying to conceive. I'll be going back to the copper coil as soon as I can 😅

I had painful periods and cramping when I had the copper coil. But I had very light periods before that so may work for you!

I’ve had it for couple of months now with no issues, I have heard that periods can be heavier and more painful, but haven’t had a period post birth yet so we’ll see. My periods were always quite painful anyways, just not heavy. But I’ll take that over taking any hormones again…

Personally it was the worst contraception i've ever had. It was very very VERY painful for me, and the amount of mucous that my womb produced was abnormal. My womb started to get infected, my mucous was green and I had to have it removed after 3 months. I concieved in 2 - 4 weeks after having it removed and then sadly miscarried. I think the environment wasn't right for the baby to develop. But don't let my experience put you off. As a nurse, I would suggest anyone try it if they want to try it. As it has many bennefits if it suits your body. It unfortunately didn't suit me xXx
