I'm so sorry to hear that. To be honest, I don't know what the best advice to give here. I also barely drank that drink and all day felt nauseous
@Lucy you have to stay inside for the duration of the appointment ie the 2 hour wait between taking the drink and next round of bloods it's stupid but assuming it's so they know you haven't ate or done something that may mess with the results x
Oh god I’ve got mine in a couple of weeks and dreading it already I hate super sweet stuff or thicker type drinks. You may have to stay in the hospital during the test time but if it’s a choice between passing out and being sick and stressing my baby girl out or getting some fresh air so I don’t stress her then I know which I will be doing
It didn’t help it was so hot in there even with windows open but i do get why you can leave, there was 4 of us sick today soo a little glad it wasn’t just me i guess, also felt really funky all day after it aswell :/
Just a question, does everyone have the test for gestational diabetes?
@Estelle not everyone I don’t think, it’s only if you have risk factors ect
@Estelle only if it in your family or you have the a higher bmi xx
@Estelle or your classified as being older - I’m 34 and that’s why they’ve asked me to have the test x
You can decline the test and opt to do a weeks worth of finger prick testing instead x
@Alana i think im going to do that, ive got my midwife appointment next week and see if thats possible
I was very nearly sick with mine I heaved several times then fell asleep for the second hour 😫 it is horrible I don’t really have any advice except to stand by the door for some air and take deep breaths, sip water… have a nap if you can 😂
Oh no, this makes me worry for mine! The only thing I can think of is making sure you've got some fresh air / a fan. I have felt a bit sick in the hospital for appointments as it's so hot.
