First birthday

It’s crazy isn’t it?! I am in disbelief. I’m going to make him a cake then have some family coming over for cake and nibbles. In the morning we’re going to a pumpkin themed baby class as well. So it’ll be a full day. What have you got planned? x

We are going to take her to the aquarium and then if she's not too tired to a shoe shop to get measured for her first shoes. They are both in the same town a couple of hours drive away. Then at the weekend then grandparents are coming round for cake!

I wouldn't normally go mad for a first birthday but my partner is very ill so we want to have a big celebration he can be involved in and enjoy as well. It's kind of snowballed 😅 Luckily my little boy is very happy around lots of people and being the centre of attenton - I wouldn't do it otherwise. My friend has a community cafe so toys and babysafe room already on site. We're having a 2 hour Peter Rabbit themed party with a bit of party food. There are some older children but luckily enough space to divide the age groups and keep them occupied. We're doing cupcakes and he'll have one for a little cake smash type thing. I'm actually really enjoying planning it, and having the food and drink taken care of on site is a wee bit expensive but takes a lot of the pressure off given the circumstances
