Post partum anxiety

I have been having panic attacks and anxiety on and off since having my baby 5 months ago, I become hot and dizzy and my heart starts to race and I feel scared that I will faint or something bad will happen. I have just been prescribed sertraline and on day 2 of taking it and had a bad panic attack this evening which I’ve heard that it can get worse before it gets better. Anyone have any positive success stories or advice about taking this medication? Thanks!

I know everyone’s experience is different, but I decided to finally take sertraline as well. I was so hesitant but I felt like I needed the help because it got so bad. I’m almost week 3 on it now and for me, by week two I noticed significant positive changes. It helped my depression calm down and I havnt had any panic attacks either. I still have moments where I feel anxious a little but it’s so manageable and it’s not like the scary anxiety. A lot of my physical symptoms that had lingered after having bad panic attacks have slowly gone away as well. The only things I notice now are some headaches but they are off and on and not terrible. Could also be because I’m so tired all the time which could be the medicine as well but also the fact I have a newborn🤣. So yeah saying all that to say, try and stick it out. Yoga, walking, journaling, and reading as apart of my daily routine has helped me tremendously. As well as therapy. Try breathing exercises or guided imagery as well to help calm

I'm following as I need the funds to get a prescription but got the same thing because my anxiety is horrible. Like rational things just giving me irrational anxiety 🙃 I'm anxious to take it but feeling at my wits end with the kids, hubby and myself! I haven't even talked to hubby about it yet because I get anxiety about having the conversation about having anxiety

@Hannah thanks so much ❤️

I love my sertraline!!! I can honestly say it saved my life. I’ve been on it for years. I tried several others before but liked sertaline the best. It did take a while for it to build up and work properly. But I don’t think it made anything worse. In all honesty, it did tank my sex drive. But still worth it in my opinion I had to change the dosage a lot. So don’t be afraid to up it if needed. I take a pretty high dose.
