Coil

Good Evening 👋🏼 Those of you who have had the coil fitted since having your LO, mainly the hormonal one (but I’m all ears on the copper coil too) I’m just wondering if you’ve had any side affects at all? I had the hormonal coil fitted on the 30th April, I had to go with the hormonal one as I have really heavy periods and the copper would make them heavier. Anyhow, I do still get my periods (I know it can take 6 months to settle down etc) and they’re sooo much lighter but just a lot longer now. They’ve gone from 3 days to over 2 weeks ☠️ which id expect with them being lighter. Buttttt, I’ve had the worst headache since having it fitted and I’m saying headache because it is constantly there. It never goes. I go to sleep with it, wake up with it, I’ve taken all sorts of different pain relief - my GP prescribed me tablets to take straight away when I wake up, specially for headaches and nothing is budging it. I do not want to go back on the injection as I piled weight on with that, I don’t want the pill as I forgot to take my antidepressants and I don’t want the implant. I guess my question is, those of you who have the hormonal coil have you suffered from headaches too? Have they got better or disappeared 6+ months in? I’m in two minds to go get it removed and see if it is that, that is triggering them. I’ve had my eyes tested etc and they’re all good. Not quite sure what else could be causing me these headaches which means I can’t sit in light rooms and I need to be surrounded by darkness.

Are you drinking enough water? I have it and been fine only had 1 headache xx

@Charis I drink about 3-4L a day, it’s the only thing I drink. I don’t drink brews or pop x

That's so strange then I'd definitely go straight back if it hasn't settled soon! Check its in proper x

It could be that your body is still adjusting to it. I’ve had mine in just over 2 years now and have no side effects at all. I don’t even get a period anymore. However, I don’t think it ever gave me side effects in the first place so you could be different x
