Going back to work…

Those who work full time - what do you plan on doing when you go back? I’m considering doing longer hours over 3 days but can’t decide what’s best. So hard to think about 😫

I’m doing full time hours over 4 days

I dropped 3.75hrs (half a day) but work 4 longer days so with 30min lunch a 9hr day with my first. I work in as a PM so office based but at home mostly. So start at 7/7:30 and finish 5/5:30. I’ll be going back to the same I think. Is that an option, wages drop but your hours aren’t super long. Also if you take the Monday as your non working day. It means you get all the bank holidays that fall in Monday as holiday days to use elsewhere. Can boost your holiday entitlement up, as you lose some when you drop days/hours etc. x

I plan to switch from 5 days a week, 7am-3pm to 3 days a week, same hours. At least for the first few months. We will see if we still be eligible for UC 🤷🏼‍♀️

I did compressed hours with my first for a couple of weeks (5 days over 4) but it wasn't for me in the long term. This time I plan to go back full time but use accrued holiday to shorten the working week for the first few months. I'll have to do 3 days in the office so limited on extending the working day with nursery pick ups anyway.
