Midwives

Hi, how is everyone directly contacting their midwives when needed? I have no direct phone number for her and same for my epu, it’s online self referral that’s only dealt with between mon-Fri

I can text or call my midwife and can call epu between 8am and 5pm mon-fri but need a referral from midwife if you don't have history of miscarriage or ectopic x

I have a direct number to midwife but she never answered anyway

I got a sheet with numbers at my booking appointment when I got my notes but our trust you don’t get an assigned midwife so it’s just the general team. Every trust will probably be different

I've had the same issue, no direct number for midwife. Only a number to ring to rearrange appointments and if I need to access EPU then I have to get a referral from my GP. The antenatal triage line is only from 16 weeks onwards so I can't use that until then. Honestly feel the only place I could go if I had concerns is my GP which personally I think isn't great considering they're so busy all the time. I think usual protocol in early pregnancy is to contact GP if concerned
