Low lying placenta

Has anyone flew with low lying placenta ? We were due to go go holiday and now concerned the advise seems suggest bleeds happen from 32 weeks but not sure if it can be before, has anyone has any issues before then? I haven't had so far xx

I had low lying placenta, had my first bleed at 28 weeks, I bled twice again between 30 and 36 weeks. Some people had no issues at all even with low lying placenta. If it’s going to move, you might not bleed, mine didn’t move and ended up covering my cervix, I guessed that was why I bled.

I bled at 12 weeks. Thought I was having a miscarriage because I had cramping as well. I think you’ll be okay. How far are you traveling? So long as you can feel the baby kicking and you feel fine, I wouldn’t worry too much.

I had low lying placenta detected at 20 weeks then by 28 weeks it had moved up so no issues. Have they told you it’s low lying now at 32 weeks? If that’s the case, the docs/ mid wife should advise you on what’s safe to do at this point x

I'm currently 21 weeks + 3 days they found out at the 20 week scan not sure if the bleeding could happen anytime now or if usually after 32 weeks. They will rescan me at 32 weeks but concerned it could start when away xx

I didn't think to ask at the scan 🙈

I had low lying at 20 weeks. Was told it was likely to move up. had my first bleed at 27 and second at 29 along with delivery 😅

It’s quite common that the placenta moves up as the baby grows… that’s what I was told. It likely won’t move up until closer to 30 weeks. I got really stressed about it all but the doctors didn’t give me any counsel about needing to rest etc- just said they’d recheck at 34 weeks (I couldn’t wait that long so paid for a private scan at 28 weeks and it had moved up). They confirmed at 34 weeks.

Thanks ladies xxx

I have a low placenta and had a bleed at 24 weeks

Nearly had to deliver then as well but the bleed resolved its self after 4 days in hospital

I’m now being monitored via bloods every 2 weeks to keep an eye as I produced antibodies towards my bubba and have a low level in my blood currently after an anti d shot when I had the bleed x

@Laura ive got one and asked in my scan and they said it’s safe to fly im flying in two weeks at 25+3 weeks
