UK Maternity allowance
Did anyone here returned to work before 39 weeks and failed to report to DWP regarding the change and still received MA for that month? What happened next?? Were you contacted by them?

I go back to work on the date of my last payment which is the 17th of September and I’m technically on annual leave until then (from today) will I have to tell DWP? I’m skint I won’t be able to get through the next month without it😭
Also don’t get paid from work until the 26th
I paid back in one lump sum but I think there was an option for payment plan. But I didn't pay it back for months. I stopped maternity pay in April and I didnt end up paying it back until July.

Yes I completely forgot that I had to report that I went back to work. Then I was surprised I received another payment. I moaned at my HR dept and they said I had to tell them. Ooops! I informed them after that and I got a few letters asking questions and then they told me how much I owed them. Sometimes, you can incur a fine for not telling them. I think they added on a £50 fine to the amount I owed them as it was a couple of months where I didn't say anything. But I just paid the money back after a while. Then all was fine. I didn't wait for them to contact me though. So not sure if they would have chased me.
