Do I need to take the morning after pill?

4 months pp. Back on the pill ( rigevidon ) I had stupidly missed 2 pills in my last pack & have just finished my 7 day break, starting new pack of pills today. However I had unprotected sex today & I'm slightly panicking, missing 2 pills last month will effect the protection. Should I take the morning after pill just to be sure ? Tia xx

I would if you really don’t want to get pregnant

The instructions with your pill should inform you whether a missed pill will affect protection at various points in your cycle (all brands and types of pill are slightly different). Generally speaking, missing a pill in a previous pack won't affect protection in the following cycle but double check what it advises.

How long you been on the pill because I’ve missed pills and been fine.

I was on this pill for years and am going back onto it from Monday. I had missed the odd pill here and there in packs, sometimes 2 or 3 in a month but never fell pregnant. If your really worried about it and find yourself overthinking it, taking the morning after pill won’t do you any harm, probably more peace of mind but I would say it depends how long you’ve been on it. If it’s the last 3-4 months, it should be fine, if youve only recently started the last month then I maybe would. 😊
