Implanon birth control and period

Hey all, Just wondering if any of you are on the implanon (rod) birth control? I had it put in last week and noticed some bleeding last night. Not sure if my period is returning or if it’s the side effects which I’ve heard can be irregular bleeding. I am EBF I wasn’t expecting my period back so soon 😭

Hiya, I had a very similar experience. I had been using Implanon for years before getting pregnant, and it always gave me super irregular periods. Got a new Implanon 6 weeks after giving birth, and had about 2 weeks of super light spotting, even though I'm EBF

@Trudy did the bleeding stop again all? Also did it impact your supply

For me the bleeding stopped after about 2-3 weeks of occasional spotting. I haven't had a proper period since then. I didn't notice it impacting my supply, but at the time I wasn't keeping a close eye on it.

@Trudy how soon after the procedure did your bleeding start?

Uhhh, maybe a few days if I remember correctly?

@Tash I got it done recently and starting bleeding 6 days into it

Thanks @Trudy and @incognito. I had mine put in 5 days ago… so curious if this is coming for me too! Did you get any cramping?

I had cramps and was bloated Just like with actual period I feel like crying at the thought of my period coming back 😂

I didn't get any cramping, but I also generally don't get many cramps during my regular periods
