birth control…

i do not do well with hormonal birth control. i asked my dr what options i have - pull out, condoms, diaphragm, iud, etc. has anyone used the copper non hormonal iud? what’s your experience? would you recommend? what about natural tracking - the ring / temperature tracking? same questions i avoided birth control after my first… well long story short i had my second a month ago lol

I have the iud and it’s awesome no period would definitely recommend and insertion does not hurt

I was super against hormonal birth control but I had to do something & I couldn’t afford 1100+ for an iud! So I started Nikki birth control pill in July & I love it! No side effect, no period, no crazy mood swings

I just got the arm implant and it wasn’t painful, I recommend trying it

I got pregnant from natural tracking using natural cycles thermometer & then the ring I used it religiously the same time everyday and how it was advised and would only have sdx on “non fertile” days and .. well.. here we are!! 😭 wouldn’t change my baby for the world but definitely made me sceptical. Especially as I don’t want two children close together, may work for other people but just thought I’d share my experience. I was also told I was completely infertile so maybe it’s just me it didn’t work for but who knows 🫣

I liked my iud

@Vonn💚 I'd be cautious with the arm implant, I had it for almost a year and ended up with horrible psychological affects (depression, mood swings) paired with a total loss of sex drive almost ruined my marriage before we realized it was a birth control. Obviously some people have great results but if you notice anything like that just keep in mind it may be the implant

So I have used the pill, the implant and natural cycles. I’m also trying to figure out what I want to do next because I had a lot of physical side effects with the pill, a lot of depression and anxiety with the implant and accidentally got pregnant with #2 on natural cycles.

I've been on the mini pill since 6 weeks postpartum. It's the only hormonal bc that is breastfeeding safe, which is why I started it. Now I'm 5 months post-breastfeeding and still on it. Periods are light, mood swings/PMS are minimal. I have had 2 iuds (kyleena and mirena) and both fucked with my mental health like crazy. I won't do another iud

I got the copper iud after I had my first baby. I just got it removed about two weeks ago, not because I want another baby but because I would bleed ALL the time. At first it was just long heavy periods and then during the month of July it was just constant bleeding/spotting. I just couldn’t deal with it anymore

I natural tracked for a year before I had my son, and then I knew when to and not to have sex until we were ready.
