When you see your midwife, you let them know where you want to birth and where you want to have your scans. Your midwife needs to be in your local area, incase you need home visits etc throughout your pregnancy. It doesn’t change where you will have your hospital care - you can choose that. You go through it all at your booking appointment which is usually between 8-10 weeks x
@Charlotte so would I need to do the Leicester referral form and wait for them to contact me as I have done the George Elliot referral and my information has been processed with them or could I ring the community midwife on the Leicester page and say I have done that referral and my gp has said to ring you as they have no midwife’s at my gp if that makes sense ? X
I’d probably give them a ring and see what they say x
Ring Leicester community midwives they will work closely with George Elliot too they’ll just have to refer you there for scans and bloods etc x
normally you’d see a midwife at your GP practise and if they don’t have one there, they normally send you to the closest centre that has, not the hospital. I’d ring again to get some clarity maybe?xx
