Contraception

Hi all, I’m first time mummy to my little boy who is now 7 weeks, does anyone know when we can get contraception and does the GP discuss it with you at the 6-8week check up or do we do it ourselves?

I just had my 6-8 week checkup and we discussed it there! X

My doctor prescribed it at my 8 week check

I decided to have the injection and my midwife gave it to me before 4 weeks. Luckily as I didn't end up with a 6 week check up 😅

You can go get it straight away I had implant inserted 2 weeks after birth x

At 6-8 check up but I delayed it as I wasn’t sure what I wanted

My OB gave me the prescription at my 6 week check-up. She did say non estrogen only as estrogen reduces breastmilk supply

@Sophie the injection has worked best for me before having my little one defo what I want to go back on! And the no monthly’s with it is an added bonus 😅😂

@Kai ah that shouldn’t be an issue for me, my little one wasn’t keen on taking to the breast even after so many breast feeding support groups and specialists interventions, they called him a lazy feeder 😅so unfortunately my milk has dried up now 😣 shame as I really wanted to breastfed 😭x
