Midwife appointments

I'm 32 weeks and had a midwife appointment at 28 weeks and my next one isn't until 39 weeks, this is my second pregnancy and I wanted to check if this is normal? I've had consultant appointment at 32 weeks and have another at 35 weeks due to complications in my previous pregnancy so I'm wondering if that's why I'm not being seen again by the midwife in between or do you just not get seen as much the second time?

That seems weird to me. I had a midwife one at 31 weeks, next booked for 34 and not sure after that. Also consultant at 32 & 36 weeks. I'm also second pregnancy.

Yeah that doesn't seem right to me, 2nd pregnancy for me too and I had a midwife appointment at 31 weeks with my next booked in for 34, however i dont have any consultant appointments. Maybe ring them up just to double check.

you have less appts if you’ve had a baby already

They are normally 2 weeks apart from 34 weeks

31 week appointment is generally for first babies but you should have 34 weeks and 36 weeks. Send an email to your midwifery team they might just have missed something.

I have midwife every two weeks now I'm past 30 weeks

You should be having midwife appointments at 31, 34, 36, 38 & 40 weeks x

Thanks everyone 😊 I thought it was a bit weird to have such a big gap between! I'll contact my midwife and check

I think everyone is different. I'm 32 weeks, nearly 33, and I have one every 3 weeks xx

I believe second pregnancy you should have a 36 and 38 week one it’s the 34 week one that’s not included for second time mums.but consultation appointments replace midwife appointments. So I saw midwife at 32 then consult at 36 then midwife 38

This is my second pregnancy and I've only had booking appointment, 16 week appointment, 28 week appointment, I've got 34 week appointment on Monday and then idk what I have after that x

Definitely strange..I’m a low risk pregnancy currently 35+4 and I’ve been having appointments every fortnight for a while now to check baby’s heartbeat, bump measurements, Carbon Dioxide levels, urine test and blood pressure etc.

I've spoken to a midwife now and she's advised that I should be having scans at 35 and 38 weeks but I was told yesterday that I didn't need any more so I guess I'll wait and see what happens next week! Glad I asked you all 😊

You should have one at 37 weeks too or 38 & 40 weeks instead (even when it’s not your first baby)

After your first pregnancy you have less appointments for every other pregnancy after that assuming there’s no other health risks x

I’m 31 weeks and currently seeing midwife every 3 weeks my next one is 34 weeks I’m not sure if I’d have anymore after this one

Second baby and I’ve had one at 28/31 and have one booked for 34. She mentioned I’ll see her every two weeks from that point until birth. I also have a consultant, so I don’t think it’s related to that. I’m pretty sure you can find this info online too, but I’d call and check x

It should be 32, 34, 36, 38 & 40 weeks… I’ve had consultant appointments between mine too
