Teething?

How would I know if my daughter is teething? She’s been sucking on her fist for a couple of days now and drooling so much her whole fist will be wet. She was crying a lot today and we couldn’t figure out what it could be. Wondering if it’s too soon? She just turned 2 months.

Omg wondering the same were going through the same exact thing!!! My daughter is also two months😭

My girl is doing the same, drooling, sucking her fists and being cranky. She is three month tho, but I feel like it’s too early?

Same here also. Almost 10w. Our pediatrician said it's possible she could be teething. I got my LO a couple teething toys and started playing with her using them.

My daughter is also doing the same thing she’s been doing it ever since she turned two months. They said it could be self soothing but she also is drooling a lot she’s almost 3 months now.

Mine (10w) does the same and I thought the same but I read that this is the week that they are developing their salivary glands hence the drooling. As for the eating fist/hand it’s a developmental thing where are exploring things with their mouth but not necessarily teething yet. I mean it could be for some babies but mine doesn’t have indication other than these, and at the 2 month appointment the ped said she might be teething in 1 month. I read that if you see these behaviors it’d be good to give them a teether to explore texture

Sucking on fists is a developmental thing and is something they do to self soothe. I thought the same thing. My girl started sucking her fists around 2 months and started drooling a lot. Drooling is just a sign that their digestive system is working.

My 10 weeks has been doing the same thing for about 2 weeks now. I think it’s just developmental, not teething.

Yes I asked my pediatrician the exact same question! She said typically they become aware of their hands and explore by putting in their mouths and sucking - teething occurs closer to 6 months.

My daughter pediatrician told us that the fist stuff is a developmental milestone totally normal. Teething at the earliest happens at 3 month but normally happens at 5 months. As they are getting older their body is figure out how to produce more saliva so that when they can start eating food they have the saliva.
