It's about that time....
In my Anthropology course, we are talking about culture, people and traditions
In childhood, my 'fake' Auntie would always make a cake every Friday and have a spades night at her house. My grandma would decorate her home on Thanksgiving and Christmas. My uncle had fish fry Fridays (or would fry chicken drumsticks , if he didn't have fish.) and grandma would have all the grandchildren at her house- for the whole summer. My crafty D.IY- Grand Aunt would crochet a baby blanket for every newborn baby in the family . My other uncle loved to record memories on his camcorder, and take lots of pictures for everything. He loves to scrap book as well.

What wonderful traditions did u grow up with ? which are the ones you preserve for your children.
(So far, I make cakes and I cook some kind of Seafood on Friday. )

@Kelli that is unfortunate that Her brother is being a little đź‘€ --- Grinch, by not sharing the timeshare. Your baking traditions sounds like fun, tho. I love to bake.

I didn't really grow up with any traditions until I was about 15 and my dad remarried. I was brought in on a lot of my new mom's family traditions like staying in Daytona Beach for a week or two during the summer with the whole family. Unfortunately after her parents' passings that all fell away when her brother took over the timeshares and now it's just his family that goes. I always bake my daughter's birthday cake and make any desserts for all holidays.
