Glucose test

Does anyone know how much glucose is in the second glucose test is in that horrible drink? I had a horrible reaction to the first glucose test. I have a history of hypoglycemia and after the hour I was super dizzy and lightheaded. Got my results and my blood sugar was 77. All the doctor said that’s fine even though I told her I don’t remember the rest of that day. My blood sugar has been so horrible and low I had to start wearing a glucose monitor in my arm because my blood sugar would drop into the 50s and I would pass out…..I’m so scared for this next glucose test because the doctor said there is no other options which I don’t believe. Advice please!

Usually the 1 hour is 50grams and 2 hour is 75 grams 3 hour is 100 grams

@Jessica if there is a past of diabetes on my moms side will they do the 2 or 3 hour one for the second test?

Did they count your first one as a fail because it being kinda low? Did you make it through the whole hour?

@Jessica they literally never called me to say if I passed or not and when I asked my doctor she’s like ya you are ok. I’m like how is 77 normal?????? I literally felt so out of it after I left the office my husband made me rest of the day and I don’t remember him driving me home….

I also have an issue with hypoglycemia and when I took mine I was at an 80 and passed and don’t have to take another test. It sounds like your doctor is one of those no news is good news doctors.

@Kamari 💛 more like my doctor thinks everything is just a normal pregnancy symptom…..she’s a nurse practitioner because the doctors are so overbooked that’s all I could get is seeing her. I’m stuck with her. I hate her and I pray I will have anyone but her deliver my baby. I don’t trust her at all. I absolutely despise this woman from day one. But this is the second doctor for this pregnancy and I’m out of options which sucks.

@Katrina this sounds like my experience last year. She always dismissed my feelings and worries and as a ftm it made the experience less then pleasant. I ended up getting medically gaslit into an induction because of that woman. Good news is because she’s a nurse practitioner she’s not qualified for actually delivering babies!

There are absolutely other options! I tested my blood sugar at home for a week with a glucometer instead.
