They make potty training urinals to hang on the wall. The one we have has a spinner in it so it was like a game for him. He is fully potty trained now and won't let me get rid of it.
Try putting little goldfish snacks, just a couple, & see if he can pee on those in the toilet. We have a step stool for my son to stand on, but maybe peeing on those would be fun for him.
@Jennae what are potty training urinals?
@Jennae I’ve seen those. Does the little spin thing make the pee splash?
Is his 3k through the DOE. They're not allowed to make potty trained a requirement for 3k. My son went to 3k and they helped with potty training in school. https://www.nysed.gov/memo/early-learning/prekindergarten-and-kindergarten-guidance-supporting-toilet-learning
Does he have underwear with something he likes on them? Not getting the trucks wet worked for my son.
@Nicole Same here. We are not sure how to change it
We were similar. We sat him on potty after each meal / before going out, and about every hour and a half. Took 6 weeks / 2 months of always having 6 changes of pants and trousers with us whenever we went out but he’s pretty good now.
And a travel potty in the boot for before car journeys…
Someone shared an idea with me. Buy some stickers that you glue on the toilet to help them aim. Maybe you can find something on Amazon or another store that can make it fun for him.
My daughter is 3 and we are going through the same thing but opposite. She will go without a diaper and go to the potty to pee, but will ask to put a diaper on to poop!
