Potty training

Hey! Is anyone potty training or planning to soon? Apparently uk have changed guidance to potty train by 18 months? But I can’t find information online about this. My little girl actually came up to me yesterday and said “poo poo” BEFORE she did a poo, so I tried holding her over the toilet (very difficult) and she did a little poo😮🥹 So I’ve ordered a potty… Not sure whether to fully try training her or just use it if/when she does that again! What are others doing please?:)

Honest ignore that. No one but your child can tell you when they are ready. Every child is different and some will do it now some later. It's such a stressful thing for you and the child unless they are ready. X

I've slowly started, before and after bathtime, naps and bedtime I've been sitting my son on the toilet although he's not done anything yet. He likes to strip off naked and no clothes can stop him so I've also been sitting him on the potty when he strips off through the day. We were going to fully train him but we have a Disney holiday booked in October and selfishly I'm not sure I can cope with a newly trained toddler🙈😂 I think we'll do it once back though x

@Georgia thank you! I think I’ll do the same, just slowly introduce it and see how she gets on. The fact she said poo poo before going for one yesterday blew my mind🤣 x

We’ve slowly started training. My little girl is 14 months and will pee and poo on the potty after naps and meal times. She mostly still goes in her nappy though. x

My LO who is nearly 15 months, always says POO POO when he is doing a poo and a wee. But I wouldn’t dream of starting potty training him, I think it’s too early xx

I'm potty training my 14 month old but it's her choice. She loves to copy x
