Potty training tips

I don't know if I'm over complicating it but I need help. So, we've been encouraging our toddler to go potty. But so far she's only done one wee a couple of weeks ago and then just sits there for ages. Probably stupid question but how do you know when to put them on the potty before she has an accident ? Also, how do you manage to go out and about? I've been reading up on this to take a travel potty. But what about driving etc.? Obviously I won't be doing long drives if I can avoid them but even short ones ? Will it confuse her if I put pull ups on ?

We're able to go out for short trips now. What we did was spent 2 full days in the house with little lady with no bottoms on and any time she peed we said "uh oh pee pee potty" and put her on, with this by the 2nd day she was going 90% of the time. Now a week in she takes herself off to the potty for number 1s and 2s but if she hasnt went for a while ill ask her if she needs to peepee potty, although sometimes shell dribble then run to the potty cos shes still learning. She doesn't speak so her sign she needs to go is she'll hold her privates. Watching, consistency and tonnes of praise is what worked for us x

@Nicola thank you 😊 🙏, yes we've made progress now with a lot of praise, how do you handle nap times ? We've started naming it a sleepy nappy.

Yep so I put a nappy on for nap and bed but I put pants over it. Last 2 days she been dry on waking from her nap and pees as soon as the nappy is off and she's on the potty x
