What to do if dr does not refer you to the ob-gyn you asked for?
I live in canada and i wanted to request a preconception exam before trying and my family dr wouldn't refer me. I even requested one i found near me and he said 1) i have to be pregnant or have issues first 2) the ob gyn i requested is picky and does not accept everyone?? Like wtf??? How can a ob gym be picky? On the answering machine it literally says have your dr send the paper through fax. Walk in clinic dr told me my family dr has to do a pap test and then refer me if there is an issue but i WANT female dr to examine me. Wtf can i do if my family dr wont let me see the ob gyn i want?

One option could be to ask for a second opinion from another doctor, or go back to the walk-in clinic and ask for a referral from a different physician there. You could also try explaining again to your family doctor that you want a female OB-GYN for a preconception exam, which is a completely valid request. If all else fails, contacting the OB-GYN office directly to see if they can advise on how to get a referral might help.
