Royal Devon and Exeter hospital

Has anyone been induced at this hospital. Just had some questions about it. I have two birthing partners will both be allowed in from start to finish? What’s it like and people’s experiences.

Yeah, mine both were but I think they were lucky to get away with it. I didn’t have the best experience if I’m totally honest, message me if you have any questions lovely x

I was induced here! The staff are AMAZING! I had two birthing partners, my boyfriend was there the whole time and my mum came up when I was in active labour (although she could have come up earlier, she would have just been sat there) It’s only if you need to go down to theatre for help delivering if it came to that, that only one can come but other can stay in your room and wait x

Yeah I was induced a couple of months ago, had a bad experience personally. Feel free to message if youd like x

I was induced 5 weeks ago. I had the pressary first for 24 hours then had my waters broken and put on the drip. For the overnight stay on the antenatal ward waiting for the pressary to work I was allowed 1 birth partner overnight (I believe between 8pm and 8am) and both during the day. My second birth partner was told to leave and come back despite me only being an hour and a half away from being transferred to labour ward. Once I was transferred to labour ward my other birth partner was allowed in too even though it was overnight.

Would recommend taking a good book as inductions can last ages. And also ear plugs and an eye mask, I ended up having to sleep on the sofa in the conservatory as the ward I was on was really noisy!

I had one in Dec and mine was from Sun until Tuesday (they were really busy so i waited from Mon, when I was ready to get my waters broken, until a bed was free on the labour ward on Tues). My partner was allowed to stay the whole time however I sent him home overnight as the chair wasn’t that comfortable. Really good experience!

I was induced and have nothing but positive feedback I moved at 32 weeks from Poole and the quality of care at Exeter was significantly better

I have one booked next week, hoping for a good experience!

I was induced here in 2023 and didn't have the best experience unfortunately, but every birth is different. Feel free to message if any questions :) x

I was induced here 2wks ago and staff where amazing my induction was a long process 5 days in total and then 26hrs in labour ending in an emergency c-section as baby didn’t wanna come out 😅 but the whole process was made so relaxing thanks to the staff and was constantly kept updated about when we’d be moving to labour ward I had 2 birthing partners and both where allowed up with me the whole time but my mum chose to not come up till I was moved to labour as it’s a lot of waiting around on the ward x
