Winnie Palmer- Questions

Hello, I am due in December. This is my first baby and have a few questions. I am going to deliver at winnie palmer. Just wondering if any of you know what does the hospital provide for mom and baby that is part of the insurance and if there is anything I need to pack myself. Not sure if they provide formula, wipes, etc. and if it’s part of the insurance or you will get charge for it.

I’m just here to say be vigilant. Ask your doctor tons of questions before hand. I have not had the best experience there. For starters I was unaware your doctor does not deliver your baby but a midwife will. I’m not sure if your doctor made that clear.

I’m following this post cause I’m due in January with my first baby and having her at Winnie Palmer too!

I had my daughter at Winnie palmer. They provide everything but they do charge you and the baby separately on the insurance. They have me 3 bags full of goodies.

Hi! I delivered at Winnie Palmer and it was a wonderful experience! The staff and everyone there is so wonderful and helpful. They do provide everything as far as I know. I breastfed so I’m not sure about formula. But they had wipes and diapers and large pads for after delivery. But as far as postpartum care for mom, they didn’t have anything- like the witch hazel pads they did not have. They only provided disposable underwear and pads.

So they provide diapers, maxi pads, perineal cold pads, medicated pads, numbing spray, peri bottle, baby blankets, baby hats one or two pair of socks, diapers for baby one pack, wipes, white muslin blanket too small, white rags and small towels for you, hospital gown or two, crackers to snack on on request for snacks. Has a menu for the hospital food not too bad the food I mean. Make sure you bring your toothpaste and toothbrush cause my last room did not have any but the first room I was in had but I was scheduled for an induction and started contractions way before so I was in 4 rooms max. The give you ready to use formula once cap open use within one hour formula. They also have donor milk if you are having difficulty with breastfeeding. They provide you with a lot of information as well for after hospital for you services you can reach out to. Pain medication if requested. The blue squeeze thing for baby. If you want to pump the bring you a manual breast pump but also electric

@Karissa my dr delivered my baby and mentioned many times before hand that he would be doing so too.

@Jasmin that’s why I told her to ask. I was advised the day of that they are a teaching hospital and unless it is planned before hand a midwife or resident will deliver every baby.

@Karissa My dr won’t be there at all since he delivers at Advent Winter Park, the only way for him to deliver my baby is if it’s a schedule C-section. Other doctors from the group will be there though, and that’s why I picked winnie palmer because there is always a Dr from the group on call. Instead if I delivered at Advent Winter Park if it’s the weekend or overnight is a midwife. It depends a lot on your group. I am delivering with Women’s Care

@Ana that’s a relief!! I’m so glad you got that information already. Sending you baby tons of love and positive energy!!

I delivered at Winnie Palmer as well and I definitely plan on delivering future babies there because they are so great! The staff was so helpful and they do provide formula. I bought a whole Frida c section kit and didn’t even have to use it because they had everything I needed
