For us, the must haves were my hands free breast pumps for expressing as my milk came in and our daughter (as much as she eats) would have never been able to drain it all. Was great for expressing in the night. (Will say though I only needed one, although I brought 2) And my baby sling - it’s a god damn life saver as honestly when she doesn’t settle it’s the only thing that helps soothe her. Little tricky to get used to putting it on right at first but being hands free is such a help! For us so far dummies have been a waste as she won’t take them since she’s breastfed only (hates the teat) and we have so many…. But I think that’s an individual baby thing. Nipple balm as well - I found it just didn’t help, but putting breast milk on was great as it did everything I needed including healing! Congratulations btw! It’ll go by so quick so enjoy moments as a couple and a family to be - stock up on nappies and wipes (there’s never enough! If you think it’s enough… double it!)

Wouldn't bother with newborn clothes, go straight to 0 to 3 months. They'll be a little baggy but the little one will be snug in no time. Groegg is great for a little light and ongoing room temp to know what to dress the little one in for bed.

Most used items for us- lanolin nipple cream, Hakka pump and c-shaped breast feeding pillow. I think these three items were worth their weight in gold in setting us up for breastfeeding and helping to deal with the initial breast engorgement. Also a white noise/ light for the bedroom (we now sleep with pink light and static playing all night and baby is a very good night sleeper). Mam bottles have been great and have no issue with getting baby to take expressed milk from 6 weeks old (dad does this daily to give me an hour off). Waste of time was the Moses basket- I think she went in it once, she only slept when held or laying on the breast feeding pillow after feeding. Baby bath with the shaped internal seat supports- we got rid of this and just got a really big baby bath with no internal supports as baby much prefers stretching out and kicking rather than sitting still 🤣

Moses basket is a waste just get a next To me crib for the bed that will be big but can grow into and can use for longer. Personally muslins wasn’t used in our house unless they had a cold for snotty noses! Bibs always seems easier and better. If you bottle feed get matching dummies , they like to suck for comfort nuk are closest to nipple along with mam. Baby clothes .. don’t by outfits they won’t fit well just live in baby grows for least 3-6 Months so get cute ones! Changing bags!! Can be pricey but I found them a waste better off having a nice bag or backpack for yourself that fits a few nappies/wipes and change of clothes. Nappies… don’t just go for the pampers or £££ they aren’t better both my littles one have had either Asda or aldis own brand and they are better price quantity and fit without leaks! Stock up on calpol .. for jabs and teething you never want to be without it and at the price it’s best to stock up a couple of bottles !
