Avoid reddit at all costs haha they are not nice there lmao We did about 6 months of research and discussion before applying to an agency and what we thought we wanted is almost the exact opposite of how we feel now. Hey Ruth! I would recommend first researching the three types of adoption to decide what is right for you: international adoption, domestic infant adoption, foster . They are all quite unique, and come with different difficulties, finances, and considerations. After that you can find an agency to work on your homestudy in accordance to what kind of adoption you’d like to pursue. Probably your homestudy agency will help you with education resources as well, including important adoption topics like trauma, attachment, infertility grief (if applicable), etc. good luck!
