Heart palpations and nose bleeds.

Has anyone suffered with the above? My midwife has referred me to see my GP about the palpations but I already struggle finding childcare for all of my other appointments so I'm really anxious about extra appointments to go to. I just wondered if it's her being overly cautious sending me to the GP?

I had heart palpitations, which was because I had low iron after tests were done. I am now on iron medication and frequent tests. I suffered frequent nose bleeds during my first and second trimester. I wasn't given any medication. Just advised to pinch on the top of my nostrils for 15 seconds to make it stop.

I’ve struggled with heart palpitations throughout my whole pregnancy from 12 weeks and I’m now 31 weeks. They done a lot of tests ECG and echocardiogram but it can all just be pregnancy related. Mine has no reason just hope it goes away after pregnancy

Heart palpitations can be low iron and/or ferritin so definitely get them both checked. Also try supplementing with magnesium if you don’t already. Not sure about the nose bleeds!

@Keeley have you tried upping your iron and magnesium? Spatone with Apple is great for iron and is always on offer at Boots.

@Holly oh I will have a look, they’ve not mentioned about my iron levels being low but may be worth giving them a go

So I bit the bullet and saw the GP today, he thinks the palpations are being caused by dehydration, I had high levels of ketone in my wee so I've been told to keep topping up with fluids throughout the day 💧
