How many follicles did you have at your baseline scan?

I'm just starting my second IVF cycle. I'm curious to know others' starting number of follicles at baseline scan compared to eggs retrieved? Will most follicles respond to stims? Thank you!

I think it varies because not all follicles have eggs in them. I had 48 follicles on my 2nd cycle and only got 12 eggs. I ended up having less on my 3rd and got 10 eggs but they were better quality. 1 of them now is my 9 week old son. X

I have PCOS so my follicle count was always high - 45 at baseline, over 100 at the end of stims, 33 eggs collected, 28 mature, 22 fertilised and 11 frozen on day 5. I lost all of my embryos to miscarriages except my lucky number 11 who is currently 4 months old 🌈🌸

I only had 12 and ended up with 6 eggs. Got 2 embryos out of those 6 though and now 19 weeks pregnant, it’s quality not quantity

Hi Jodi, I had 20 to start with and had 19 eggs retrieved of which 16 were mature. Everybody responds differently but you can have most of your antral follicules respond ! My doctor put me on relatively high dose despite normal AMH to ensure we recruited as many as possible x

34 follicles, 9 grew and 8 eggs. 6 fertilised and 5 ended up as blast. One miscarriage and one is my daughter with 3 in the freezer still.

32

This is so interesting to know, thank you everyone. I have 23 follicles at my first scan so hoping this is a good starting number
