Is a My Carry Potty worth it?

We take the carry potty everywhere just leave it in the back of the car or when we go out it goes in a bag etc, by the time we'd found a public toilet my LG would of wet herself.

We use a potette instead, so you just use a bag liner and when they’re done you tie it up and throw it away. I find it much more convenient (and compact) than a carry potty. Now that my daughter is happy to use a toilet though I don’t carry anything with me. She just holds herself up on the seat and then we wash her hands. The potette can be used as a seat minimiser as well as a travel potty but I didn’t like the idea of putting it on a public toilet seat and then carrying it around with us (or carrying poo and wee around in a carry potty). I now just leave the potette in the boot of the car in case we go somewhere with no toilets.

Didn’t bother with a carry potty, did keep a foldable toilet seat in my bag just incase, though once we’ve made it to a toilet I’ll just hold him steady whilst he wees, but it’s been handy for if I’m out with both my children and can’t hold/help my eldest whilst holding the baby etc. I’ve not had an issue once where he hasn’t made it to a toilet in time. We also trained straight to the toilet though, so I think he found the concept of a potty strange! It took him a while to use the travel one that I keep in the car for emergencies.

I would definitely recommend it. Massive help when potty training & we still use it for emergencies 6 months later.

It’s been really helpful for us when potty training and to have in the car for long journeys now or if going on a long buggy walk not near toilets etc.

Love the carry potty it’s 100% worth it. My little one still learning the concept of holding it till we get to the toilet and I’m worried in public if a toilet isn’t too close she’ll have an accident. They’re just really helpful and also think the cool designs are encouraging

We use a potette and use pedal bin liners with some tissue in the bottom! Then if we're near a toilet it's a training seat and if not it csn be a potty. Pros to this is that I'm not carrying around a bulky potty with wee and poo in it and I can fit the seat, liners, tissues and spare knickers all in the drawstring bag and put it in a backpack or under the buggy. Cons is that it uses a carrier bag everytime but we only use it for emergencies.

I recommend it to everyone. I had to do no training because of always having access to a toilet 24/7. I'd be discreet most of the time, but if she needed to go where she was (in a shop or a park) then out it came. Godsend. Can't wait to get started with the little one 😅

They are helpful, but my daughter refused to sit on it. Said it was uncomfortable

Found it great for us, my daughter has chunky legs like me and finds the toilet inserts can mean that wee goes down her leg and everywhere so when she was training it was great. Can even stick it in our boot and let her go for a wee when we were on a long journey. She loved it looked like a penguin and great that it completely seals so you can sort it later.

We used ours loads to start with and we still use it now if we are going somewhere without a toliet nearby. But if we are going somewhere with a toliet my lo just uses that.

@Jessica I have the potette but if you go for the carry potty, I would get the official branded one as my friend had an alternative and it was so bad, you had to keep it entirely flat or it leaked. They are expensive but I guess worth it for the years you can get out of it. Even for older children, an emergency car toilet is always handy for journeys!!

We have a my carry potty and a foldable toilet seat and have definitely used the foldable toilet seat a lot more! However, I can see why some children would benefit from the my carry potty and it was good in the first days of potty training when we followed her round the house with it (although probably another cheaper one would have been fine too). We haven’t had the benefit of using it out and about because my daughter was more keen to use the big toilet like us (and we were happy not having to clean out a potty multiple times a day! So the foldable seat worked better for us. Basically, if you think they are going to be using a potty for an extended period, get the my carry potty. But if you think they will progress to a toilet quite quickly, don’t bother and get a foldable toilet seat

Definitely worth it, my little one wouldn't sit on a normal potty when starting out, we take it everywhere with us for emergencies, we clip it to the change bag or trike. Currently on offer in tesco as well

For me, it was worth it. It was used a lot in the beginning, and then on a long journey, or when we go out on a walk and a toilet is not near, etc. Although my son used potty and big toilet equally from the start, I really liked the convenience of just having a potty to hand anywhere. I still keep it for travels/long journeys even if now he can wait for quite a long time

My little one is quite slim and she says it’s uncomfortable to sit on so even though I take it with me she only does a wee on it if very desperate - she prefers the portable seat you can put on top of a regular toilet. Won’t relax enough to wee if I hold her over a regular toilet.
