@Jacque there is a hands on fossil museum in Gray, Wallabies (it’s a bunch of inflatables for the kids to play on), just jump. There is a movie theater in Johnson City (I’ve never been to that one) but the one in Bristol is super nice & Kingsports is alright too. There are Many many parks around here. We have Bays Mountain in Kingsport with wild animals, they have a planetarium, a barge, tons of hiking trails. They have some horse riding stables around, I know a big one is at Warriors path state park in Kingsport.
