Would you buy your son a doll and doll pram if he asked?

We took my son to Smyths the other day and he asked for a doll and a pram. We bought him one but got very strange looks from a couple of other people in the shop as he's happily whizzing around with his new favourite toys 🤣

Kids don’t gender toys..they just go with what they like. I can’t imagine explaining to my son he can’t play with a toy because ‘it’s for a girl’.

Boys will see their dads pushing prams too so it seems very normal for him to want to do the same

@Dee exactly this, my 3 year old girl loves playing with cars and dinosaurs more than she does her pram and doll

Yes my son loved his doll and pram.

@Laurie so cute but respectfully that’s one of the ugliest dolls I’ve ever seen 😂

Maybe as a Xmas/bday present. My son played with my old toy pushchair but mainly used it to race round the house with. I get the impression that girls and boys play with prams slightly differently.

Yes, I have a son and when he starts choosing he can have what he likes 🥰🩵

The first thing my little boy ever asked for in the shop was a baby doll. He still plays with it now and gets a bottle to give it some milk and cuddles it when it’s “crying” 🥹 he is so caring! when his little sibling arrives I know he’s going to be so loving towards him/her x

My husband used to have a toy pram and a doll! He now can't wait to have our baby in his arms and he was so excited when we bought the pram 😂 If anybody says anything to you, point out that he's playing "dad" and see if they can give you a good reason for that being bad 🙄

@Giorgia I love that idea!

@Anonn aww that’s adorable! we are raising a generation of loving dads as well as mums, so think baby dolls/prams shouldn’t be put in just the girl section x

My son has one and loves it. Got it for him as we are expecting a second and want him to have his own baby. So when I feed baby sister, he can feed his baby. I don’t think prams and dolls are gendered toys - or at least they shouldn’t be. Do we not see men walking around with babies and strollers everyday? 😂

@Dee 😱 My boy is 10 now and still has him, I'd better not tell him you said that 😂

My son has his pram and his little dolly. She's dressed in pink with a pink dummy. He even has a little pink dolls house that he absolutely loves. I hate people that judge kids/their parents based on the toys they wanna play with. If my son wants a dolly, he can have a dolly! 🥰

Praying for a generation of men that weren’t pushed into being manly men and were allowed to express themselves however they please 💗

Yes. When we went shopping my son pointed at a doll and asked if he could have one, it came with a bottle and potty and he loved feeding it and making it "poo" 😂 he also enjoys playing with the play kitchen and often pushes his sisters toy pram and doll around. I have no issues, it's helping his imagination Also my daughter loves playing with cars and "boy toys", I think it's a good thing 😊 as long as they are happy

I put yes, but honestly no. I wouldn’t bc I’m cheap AF and wouldn’t buy it for my daughter either. It’s too big of a toy and my house is too small.

@Naomi lol. Same

I would buy my son one but my husband would be mad ash

My son loves to play parent. He has a 12inch Spider-Man doll that he calls his baby. He comforts spider man when he’s sleeping, puts him in naughty spot when he’s been bad, and pushes him around in his umbrella stroller. It doesn’t bother me. Daddies have to be trained, too.

IDC about people’s looks honestly I’m way over that stage. I get looks all the time for different reasons and I’m usually oblivious to them. He’s got pink soccer ball a purple bike handed down from his cousin. It’s not the only bike he has though 😂

I got my son a doll as one of his first toys with some trucks, animals, a BAB. It's one of his favorites.

@Shelby ok, let me rephrase that..kids don’t innately gender toys. We as a society tell them what’s for boys and girls.

If you want him to grow into a loving and caring daddy himself then surely it makes sense to??

My oldest is 18 and he had a toy kitchen and doll and pram

@Katie Yes! My son has a kitchen too, and a hoover, and a little cleaning cart with all the accessories 🤷🏻‍♀️
