Potty training

So we’ve started potty training and so far it’s 50/50, my daughters not had any accidents yet, yet when we sit her on the toilet she hits and kicks. That’s fine I can deal with that, what I need to know is how do we get past it when we go out? Shes non verbal so while it’s okay me taking her to the toilet every 5 minutes, how does she let me know when we’re out that she needs to go? We drive everywhere too so her dad is adamant that he doesn’t want her ruining her car seat. Even if we go for a walk, how can I assure that there’s going to be toilets nearby? We’ve even moved house now so school is at least a 25 minute drive and I don’t know how dads going to cope 😅😅

Not sure about being far away from things, but as for letting you know she has to go, you can have a picture of a potty that she hands you when she needs to go. A visual cue and visual communication since she is nonverbal. You can start it at home so she knows how to use it then generalize it to other environments:)

@Tessa thank you, I’ll admit that she can say a few words but never in context and while we have yet to pee on the potty today, I know that the amount of words she uses outside differ. In public she rarely uses her words but I’ll defo give the picture board a go while we’re out and about

I’m been going through this for the last year!!! I’ve tried flash cards and I think sometimes his brain is so busy, that he doesn’t read his own signs. But I would say that his control is amazing now and I’ve always been quite lucky that he’s never weed/pooed himself when we’ve been out and about! But home and my parents, has always been a different story!
