Potty training outside the house

What on earth do you do!? Do you hover them over a public toilet? Take a potty and whack it out whenever they need it? My little girl is fine at home but I’ve been avoiding going out because I have no clue what the etiquette is!? 😂

Just get a carry my potty and take it everywhere .. to start with then they need to go they mean the pee will come out right now! So just chuck it down wherever you can to avoid accidents (like middle play park, pub garden, side street ok) but places with toilets like inside cafe or supermarket you take the potty to the toilet

I second the first comment, I bought ‘my carry potty’ (I let my little girl pick the design she liked - penguin) and I honestly can’t recommend it enough, we’ve not even had to stay at home the weekend we potty trained, we just carried on having days out (we had an amazing weather that weekend and we were determined not to waste it 😄) and just brought the carry potty with us wherever we went - it removed the stress of having to look for and use public toilets. Although now she’s increasingly insisting on using big toilets (which I’m pleased about) we often use the public toilets and so I just pile on loads of toilet paper on the seat, sit her on it and hold her so she doesn’t fall in whilst continuously shouting ‘don’t touch anything’ 😂😂

I also have a carry potty which has been handy. I have a foldy thing for going over the toilet so he can actually sit but I've found it causes more splashes on clothes than just hovering over the toilet. Hovering over the toilet is my main one I do!

Thank you all!!! We have one of the carry potty’s so will defo try that more, it was more that I didn’t know if it was OK to just whip it out anywhere and everywhere but seems like I’ll just need to go for it haha

@Faye bless. I think there’s certain places I wouldn’t do it like restaurants etc. but my toddlers are 1 year & 9 days apart, I was at the check out in Costco at the time when my son said he needed a wee, I’d paid for my goods so didn’t want to take them into the toilet & leave trolley, I went to the back of the store where no one was and got him to use I there. I think if they’ve just started a need to go, I’d just apologise to anyone around. Mums have all been there where when their toddler needs to go it’s there and then and not always possible to go somewhere discreet. People have always been kind and understood if I’ve had to get it out in a none discreet place. Good luck with going out potty training🥰x

@Faye I think in my head it's either they can go in the travel potty or will make a puddle on the floor...
