Truth in Pregnancy myths

If this is your 2nd/3rd pregnancy.. or 1st pregnancy but you already know the gender.. what sort of pregnancy myths/old wives tales did you experience in your pregnancies which turned out to be true or false? i.e craving salty food means you're having a boy 👦 I have my pvt scan next week so this is just for fun!! 😁

I'm craving salty foods and having a boy! Also haven't had that much sickness or nausea so again, that means boy apparently!

Everything pointed to me having a boy with my first and she’s definitely a girl 😅

@Louise ohh exciting? Have you had your pvt scan then? I have a 3 year old girl and I didn't really have much of a craving. This time I'm craving salty food but actually have a bit more tiredness, nausea and feeling of sickness (but not actually been sick).. so not sure what to think

My first is a boy. The only old wives tale that rang true was that I did carry him like a ‘boy’ as in I had a typical ‘boy bump’.

I was obsessed with salad and then salt & vinegar or anything potato and had a boy. Currently loving lemonade and jam on toast 😂🤣 who knows atm as I’m 14 weeks.

Had a girl last June and had all the classic girl old wives tales while pregnant with her. This time my pregnancy has been fairly similar but we aren’t finding out. Thinking girl again but there’s been some slight differences and for some people pregnancy is the same regardless. It is funny as none of them are proven but there are things that seem to be signs.

loved anything potato with my twin boys and loved sweet things for my girl which i heard is a girl pregnancy thing. was a clear difference in my pregnancy but it was also a multiple pregnancy vs singleton so im not sure🤷🏻‍♀️

Salty/savoury spicy foods with my first two, craving anything sweet this time around (unsure of gender as yet) I had severe hg with the first two - not so much this time around Never broke out/had that glowy pregnancy skin first two - my skin has currently gone to absolute shit. Severe heartburn with both of my first two pregnancies (both came out with lots of hair)

With my first I had everything pointing her to being a girl and it was completely correct. Things like craving sweet food when I normally like savoury. I also had a high bump. I just knew she was a girl from the second I found out. With this pregnancy I’m craving salt and vinegar crisps etc, I don’t have much sickness, more nausea. I hate sugary things because they leave a horrible taste in my mouth 🤢 I definitely think boy for this one. I’d be very surprised if we’re having a girl x

I think this was why I was convinced I was having a boy the whole way I had no sickness, craved savoury rather than sweet, skin was glowing., Chinese calendar said boy. So when I kept getting told she was a girl I didn’t believe them 😅 she’s definitely a girl. This pregnancy has been completely different but I’m convinced it’s another girl from my scan. My sister’s three pregnancies were all different and again all girls so I think we just produce girls!

@Kirsty im currently 16+5 vinegar tomatoes cucumber and fruit has been the one for me. Interesting that so many people I’ve spoken to have vinegar cravings 🤷‍♀️❤️

I’m having a girl and they say girls take your beauty and I have had LOADS of spots since the start! Don’t believe in them but interesting
