Potty training!

Same here, second baby in June and my little girl 3 in October. She’s so traumatised by the potty and where she is now highly communicative she keeps telling me she doesn’t need to use a potty as she’s still a baby and is so small so she needs nappies. It’s like there is no reasoning. Every week I try again but the more I try and encourage it the more likely it will end in tears.

I just trained my wee girl a few weeks ago. I pretty much left the ball in her court and she actually did amazing. I left a potty in reach at all times on day one and stayed home with no knickers. Then day two went to the local park (with the travel potty) the just carried on as normal by day 3. She had got the hang of wee after 3 days, poos took a bit longer to get used to the feeling but we were all done and dusted in 2 weeks. I think I caught her at the right time. She is highly independent though so the key for us has been I don’t ask her if she needs or take her to the loo every 30 mins as I know she would get annoyed. I leave it up to her and 99% of the time she tells me when she needs. Don’t stress too much if it doesn’t work though. My son didn’t train until 3 years 1 month and was harder work! I had no technique though I basically just put her in pants and waited to see what happened 😂 definitely don’t use nappies at all (except at night) once you’ve started! X

I potty trained my October 21 son around 3 months ago, an afternoon at home in the garden naked then pants the next day. There was the odd accident here and there the first few weeks, I just waited until he let me know that he was ready to do it; he wanted to use the toilet like mummy and daddy, so we just went for it, no rewards, just lots of praise. I was a nanny before a mummy so I cheated, I’ve potty trained a few children before my own 😉 now for the 18 month old next summer

We followed the Oh crap! Potty training book. Can be a bit harsh but I followed the steps and worked perfectly for us. The only “rewards” I did was a high 5 when she managed to do it in the potty. She naturally trained herself at night 3 weeks later too but have still had a few accidents since (trained in Feb) when I let her have too much to drink at dinner time xxx

We have just potty trained my little girl. Took 5 days to be dry and we’ve had no accidents since. We stayed in for a solid 3 days and she was naked from the waist down. My little girl took better to the big girl toilet with the steps as she enjoyed getting herself on it. First 3 days I asked her consistently every 30mins if she needed to wee and watched for any signs she may need to wee!
