Birthday ideas!

What’s everyone getting for the 2nd birthdays coming up? We have sooo many toys, he has a balance bike. A couple of ride ons, a kitchen. Are the tonie boxes worth the money? We do like a story at bedtime

We have got the toot toot train track, he has the car track/garage and loves it. We have some builders dress up bits, fisher price little people sets and books. We are thinking to get a little tablet too for travelling. We will eventually get him a tonie box but for now I think he would get more use of a tablet plus it would help him stay awake in the car now that we are trying to reduce naps!

We have so much toot toot stuff, I thought about adding to that but it’s never ending lol I’ll have a look at some little people sets, thanks x

Does your little one go to play group? I tend to see what he's interested in there for ideas, or at friends houses. At the moment mines loving the farm set, train track and the dolls house at play group so although you have a lot of toys already maybe a bigger item to use existing toys with could be an idea too? We already have a dolls house and train set at home and those are both played with most days x

Our LB has a tonie box, uses it all through the day & at bed time, he absolutely loves it. We’ve asked for a tea set / puzzles / a painting easel from family who have asked. Highly recommend the tonie x

We’re getting a hot wheels garage as my little boys obsessed with cars and loves the garages at playgroups

@Cath do you find it reduces screen time? (If you allow any) We do half an hour of tv before bed to try to settle him down but we find he then keeps asking for it in the morning then we have a tantrum when we say no so considering a Tonie box to try to stop it from happening.

We have a Toniebox. My Daughter is getting a bike or trike for her birthday. Plus a busy for her to brush hair and things because I'm sick of her brushing mine tbh. My girl (through no encouragement from me) loves the princess stuff so she put her Music on the Tonie box and pulls on a skirt and her heels and dances round. She likes it. Each kid is different though, I know some who are so used to being visually stimulated that a Toniebox was pointless to them x

@Molly yes definitely helps - we used to be completely screen free but I’m currently pregnant with baby 2 so we’ve introduced some screen time as this pregnancy has been hard! We find the same with tantrums about saying no to tv and him asking to watch it a lot but suggesting he goes to pick a tonie to listen to instead really helps & quickly distracts him - he also likes playing with the little figures which is an added bonus :)

@Cath that’s great thank you! I’ve been on the fence for a while but that’s really helpful. Congratulations on baby 2!
