I was due back at the start of October but I'm not ready so I've extended mine. I would just ring the nurseries and check on the placement. They normally offer settle sessions before they are due to start to help them adjust.
I’m a single momma too and. I go back to work on Thursday, my little one will be 8 months the day after. I was super nervous too as my little girl has never been left with anyone else but me for long periods of time but she’s had 2 taster sessions and nursery and she absolutely loved it which made me feel so much better!! Honestly I’ve been in An absolute state about it but after seeing her there and having fun it made me feel a million times better 🩷 you got this mama xxx
I go back end of Sept, my LO starts nursery the first week of Sept. Prior to that she has 3 settling in sessions, the first one was 1 HR yesterday and my LO loved it which really put me at ease. The next two are 2 hours each. As above, the settle session has massively helped me
@Rachel im due back on the 1st of October, the nursery says the panel isn’t till September and that’s to decide if he gets a place there
@Amy, my HV helped ring the nurseries but no luck cause of the deciding panel in September and don’t know when that would be. I’m just hearing about the settling sessions now, I might have to talk to my boss for an extension just in case
Oh wow, I'd be nervous too, have you applied for others in case they don't have space ? Once your little one has settling in sessions you'll feel so much better. Mine had his first yesterday and loved it, he cried when i put him in the car to take him home 😂 He's got another longer session on Wednesday. Once you get it sorted you'll feel a lot better about going back x
@Rachel yes I have, however I wanted something not too far from where I live cause I’m not driving atm and still need to be in office for work. Awww you’re LO must’ve loved being around other kids 🥹 bless him x
