First midwife appointment

So I didn’t find out I was pregnant until I was already 8 weeks. Contacted my GP right away but the earliest they’ve been able to get me a my initial appointment is the 13th of September at which point I’ll be nearly 14 weeks. Isn’t that super late for first appointment, they’ve assured me it’s alright but I don’t know what to do.

I think that’s too late and you should be seen before! I’d request an earlier appointment / scan x

I’m sure I’ve read that your first appointment (booking appt) should be before 10 weeks. I’d query this with them.

not sure where you are but I think they are backed up badly. I had to reschedule my 16w appointment (called at 13w) and they said the earliest they could give me was when I was 20w. Crazy

definitely should be having your first appointment earlier tho. Had mine at 7w

They're always late in my area. I waited til 13 weeks and then complained to PALS to get a midwife haha

.

Thank you ladies. I ended up booking a private reassurance scan for my own peace of mind and babies doing well. I’ve spoken to the GP and midwives and seems they really can’t do any earlier and said I would be considered if they get any cancellations
