UC period and wages issues

My UC keeps taking two sets of wages out of one assessment period due to the way my wages is paid but essentially in the past month I only earnt 500 but they’ve said 1000 when I haven’t. This means that I’m not entitled to free dental and prescriptions and glasses etc currently on my way to emergency dentist and not sure what to tell them as I cant afford to pay

This happened to me last January. I get paid 4 weekly so 13x a year and 2 payments fell into one months assessment period last year but they were obviously still 4 weeks apart.. nothing universal credit could do and I’m now having to save for when this happens again 😩 could you get a pre payment certificate card? Might be beneficial depending if your on regular medication

This happens to me but only once a year as Jordan said above I also get paid 4 weekly so they count 2 of my wages as 1 once a year which is annoying. I’ve always just ticked the universal credit exemption, never been asked for proof

Do you get paid monthly or 4 weekly? If its 4 weekly there's 13 paments a year so one month a year you will have 2 payments in 1 month which will reduce your UC which is correct If monthly you shouldn't keep getting 2 payments in 1 month, if your paid early due to BH for example you need to remind your boss/HR that they need to be reporting the payment date as the usual date not the earlier date

I get paid the last Friday of the month so differs last month I got paid on the 26th month before the 29th and my UC period is the 27th to 26th of each month. It’s happened 3 times this year so far 😫

If you're paid monthly you can raise an RTI issue with UC to move your pay to the next month as you're paid monthly

anytime 2 monthly wages show on your uc statement WHEN PAID MONTHLY ONLY journal select payments 2 monthly wages have been counted on my most recent statement and I am requesting an rti dispute to move a wage using regulation 61

I literally had this last month and I added a note to my journal because I was wondering where they got that figure when I looked at my statement and didn’t get a response. I called up several times and was told my case manager had to sort it twice but no response. I then added several more notes and placed more calls. I then called again and then someone finally said it’s because of when I was paid they both fall within the same assessment period and I thought that didn’t make sense as it’s not my fault my job paid me early due to payday being on a Sunday (got it the Friday) then I raised a complaint for how long it was took to get a response as it was pass 2 weeks and the next day they added a note to my journal and said they passed it to another team who said they can see it’s for 2 different month etc and they they recalculated and gave me the extra.

Btw I didn’t know there’s a limit for UC when it’s comes to dental and prescriptions I thought if you’re getting it then you automatically get those perks 🤔

This is due to happen to me next month. Im single, get no child support as dad is an ex con, I'm financially responsible for my mum and son as she isn't working and not entitled to anything. I'm having to work 6 days a week this month to try to cover the £450 I'm losing but it won't be enough unfortunately. It's getting harder to live these days
