How long till your first nhs appointment?

Hi all I got my 3+ test yesterday so happy and excited I done my self referral form for the midwife. Does anyone know how long you tend to wait to hear back from them? This is my first baby so I have no idea what I’m doing or what to expect?

Mines at 9+5. I got the appointment within 3 days of referring.

I got my appointment the day after I went to the doctors as I couldn't do a referral online. My first midwife appointment is at 10+2 weeks x

I self-referred at 4 weeks, within two weeks I'd heard back giving me an appointment date and I had the appointment when I was 8 weeks :)

I self referred at 4 weeks and they called my back the same day with an appointment when I’m 8 weeks 🥰 x

@Jennifer I’ve still not heard anything back x

I self referred a week ago and still not heard anything back I’m only just 6 weeks but I thought I’d have heard back for the booking appoint in a couple weeks x

It all depends on how busy your hospital is for new pregnancy cases and existing ones to be fitted in around the midwives with ours we reffered straight away at 4weeks on a Friday and by following Monday had a call to set up first app then a week later got my first dating scan app for 23rd September

@Brooke you will hun I’m 6w1d and I just heard from mine on Saturday and mine is a week from now so between 7-8 weeks you will be seen xx

@Brooke don't panic - it took nearly two weeks for them to get back to me. Booking appointments happen anytime before 10W, so if you're only 6W you have plenty of time!

I self referred at 4 weeks, heard back via email in a few days and my appointment is at 8 weeks ☺️

I’m 8 weeks tomorrow and my booking appointment is tomorrow. I referred myself around 4/5 weeks. I’ve had the appointment for about 2 weeks x

I self referred at 5 weeks & heard back within about 5-7 days. Booked in for next week when I’ll be 9 weeks 😬

They count weeks from your last period (first day of it) and usually first appointment with midwife is between weeks 8-9 but it probably depends as well on how busy they are. I had mine in week 8+ xx

I was wondering the same thing, I’m 7 weeks today and haven’t heard anything x

I self referred at 4 weeks, heard back within a week and first appointment booked for 7 weeks - feels super early but will take it!

@Claire I’ve done my referral for Basildon, maybe I should have chose another hospital. I’ve not heard anything and I know it’s still early I told them at 5 weeks I’m now 6 and heard nothing xx

I referred yesterday and have had an appointment letter through for 2 weeks time already xx

@Samantha I’ve just had an update on my patient best that have an appointment for 5th September x

I’ve an appointment 7+6

@Brooke fab 👍

@Brooke so glad you heard back! 😊I’m Southend so we aren’t too far from each other

@Claire I know that’s so amazing! That’s so close I’m in Southend most weekends tbh with my partner. I didn’t know what hospital to pick and I live like 10 mins from Basildon at the moment so just done it for there x

@Brooke yeah I was debating researching which was the better unit but in reality, Southend hospital is a 3 minute drive from me, I can walk it in 10 minutes so I figured go for convenience lol.
