Fed up😢

I was due on 16th and also no sign. Went for a sweep today and she wasn't able to do it as my cervix wasn't open enough. Going to try again on Thursday. Also very emotional and not sleeping well which makes it harder to make decisions!! Sweeps seem to work for some and not others - if you're keen to move things along it can't hurt trying imo, but as always it's a very personal choice! Hope things move along for you soon xx

I was due yesterday (18th) had a sweep today and my cervix is still closed 😔 im glad i had it so im aware of how open (or closed in my case😂) my cervix is, so the wee man will probably not make an appearance any time soon 🙄

@Lindsay what did they say have they said induction then? X

@Alex yes they’ve said induction, my midwife is going to book me in for 25/26th as my wee man is already very big

I was due 10th and still no sign of my lil boy🥺 had a sweep last tuesday and lost my plug on the wednesday so thought it would only be a few days from there, week later n im having my second sweep tomorrow makinh me 10 days over due😩x

I was due on 17th and having a sweep this Friday (40+6). I am also booked for induction on Monday (41+2). I figure if I can avoid the induction with the sweep then it’s a good thing.

@Katie fingers crossed. Are you not wanting to be induced?

@Alex i was trying to hold off as planning a home birth but when i see my midwife today for my second sweep im gonna ask her fo book me in for tomo or thursday if possible because im more than ready now n by the time he comes (assuming itll take a day or 2) i’ll already be 42 weeks and personally dont want to exceed that x

@Katie yeah I understand I don’t want to get to 42 either. I’m 40+2 at the moment hoping she comes this week. Debating on a sweep tomorrow but not sure x

@Alex the sweep i had last week was a lil uncomfortable but nothing i would complain about and i did loose my mucus plug the next day. I mean i could have lost it without the sweep ill never know but hoping today shell tell me im atleast a lil more dilated. Ive had multiple friends who a sweep worked and gor things moving, i also know a handful of people it didnt work for. Such a hard decision. Whats your reasons against if you dont mind me asking? x

@Katie I mean I know there’s worst to come pain wise just the idea of something going up instead of coming down when you’re not wanting it 🤣 and worried it’s painful too. Just wanted it all to come on naturally tbh x

@Alex i get you 100%🤣 ik this doesnt help but she was littrally doing it for less than a couple minutes i was surprised how quick she did it i thought she would be rummaging around for a little bit🤣 do you have any other signs that maybe labour is near? x

@Katie like I feel silly saying it like I don’t want anyone touching around when I’ve got to have a baby yet but just don’t want to and really don’t want to be induced either…. So it’s not painful in your opinion? X

@Katie nope no other signs. Can’t tell if I’ve just got more discharge or if it’s bits of mucus plug but no bloody show or anything. No back ache or pains and she feels high up although I know baby dropping isn’t a sign. People say they’re doing this and that where as I’m at home just taking it nice and steady x

no please dont feel silly at all! i completely understand it! its so hard isnt it!! Not painful in my opinion i wouldnt describe it as ‘ouch’ just more of a winse your eyes n think thats not a nice feeling like uncomfortable. It felt alot further back than i was expecting, i was expecting to feel it sorta where you get period cramps like up in that area but it was more back almost felt abit of pressure in your bum. Maybe i was just nieve on how far back ur cervix is🤣🤷🏼‍♀️x

@Katie thanks for understanding ☺️. Ahhh ok I’ll be honest I didn’t think it’s that far back either but clearly is then 🤣🤣. My next community midwife appointment tomorrow so… x

sorta the same as me no other sign. every now n again i get a couple little cramps but nothing last long or is constant. I hear some people say they have regular contractions or back ache for days before hand n i just seem to have nothing. Its so disheartening x

I'm 41+1 and going for my 2nd sweep today. First was was fine, not painful, a bitblike a smear test, just had to breathe through it. I found it useful as midwife could tell me where we are at (she said my exterior cervix was at 1cm but interior was closed). She suggested I try acupuncture and reflexology. I ried both yesterday and I felt baby reacted to the reflexology, she moved around a lot according to which pressure points were pushed, and i had some cramping. Will see today with 2nd sweep if I'm any more dilated. Otherwise booked for induction next Monday which I'd really rather avoid.

@Katie yeah I’ve got nothing either. Don’t particularly feel uncomfortable as of yet either. Yeah like I knew she wouldn’t come on her due date just the not knowing but also wanting to wait for it to happen too as everyone always says they’ll come when they’re ready but… x

Im in 2 minds what to do i have a sweep booked for Thursday which will make me 40+4 - im thinking im going to push it till im 41+ as i want to give my body time to try do it naturally. I dont like the sound of the sweep as I've heard it gives you cramps an bleeding but nothing actually comes of it?! Although i am desperate for the baby to come out! Really stuck on deciding 🫥

@Alex oh god you booked in for Thursday too! Im 85% sure im going to push it a week. I will see what she says about it i imagine they probably dont like not doing it but i just feel like the baby obviously isn't ready. My 1st was 3 days early so i fully wasn't expecting him to be late 🤣 Im going to go on a big hilly walk this weekend if he hasn't come by then!!

@Robyn I mean from what people say in here you don’t have to do anything you don’t want they can’t make you have one unless medical reasons risks etc and if you don’t then just wait till next week? I’m the same timing as you haven’t got an induction booked in though, got community midwife tomorrow afternoon and just see what she says. As I say I’m not doing anything different infact if anything I’m relaxing more and staying sat down as I’m just tired all the time. See I had a concealed pregnancy first time so I don’t know whether he was early on time or late x
