Potty training advice

My girl turned 2 in may and I really want to get get her potty trained. She show’s/ tells me all signs when she having a poo and when her nappy is too full. She has a potty and she knows what to do but when I leave her with no nappy she will have a wee without realising and scream and gets all upset. When i try show her potty for the wee she doesn’t want to. But will happily pretend to wee and poo on it. Shall i leave it and try in a thew months?

I’m so glad to see your post! I’ve been off all summer and have this week and next week off left with my little boy! He is the same, will happily sit on the potty, and we will read books about it, but he’s yet to do anything, we did try without pants, and he had a little accident in the kitchen and came and told me, but I don’t know whether to wait a few months either.

I think leave it a while my son is the exact same I don’t think they’re quite ready as I saw a poll on one of these other posts of kids born May 2022 and about 70% of them were not ready. I’ve paused for now so it’s less stressful for everyone

I tried a few days after her 2nd birthday (May baby too) and it was a hard no from her, she just did her business on the rug and didn’t even bother telling me 😂😂 I’ve read that if they show no interest to try again in a few weeks etc. so what I’ve done the past few weeks when changing her is tell her “wee wee” if it’s just wet or “poo poo” if it’s dirty so she knows to associate the wetness or “mass” etc 😅 so now when I change her before I undo her nappy mask her “is it wee wee or poo poo” and she has gradually learnt to tell me before I change her. I’m gonna give it another shot next week when we have a few free days! 🤞🏼 keep trying is the key I believe.

My daughter is exactly the same! I am going to try to put her on potty training underwear over the bank holiday weekend. They should catch some of the wee but she still will feel wet. Hopefully it will help because after that I am out of ideas.
