Can anyone recommend activities for mum on maternity leave?

Feel like I’m going insane. I need something to do but something that either costs nothing or cheap as SMP is not great. Thank you :)

Walk around castle park, repeat over and over… (from a mum on Matt leave during the pandemic 🙈)

Not necessarily cheap but my partner got me a zoo pass for the year, costs a bit up front but the amount of times I've gone already in the last few months has eclipsed the price of pass. It's good for meeting friends especially those with kids, we take a picnic and don't spend a penny, been a lifesaver to get me out the house and have something to actually do

There are lots of lovely playgroups in Colchester! Unfortunately, most of them don’t run during the school hols, but they’ll be back on again soon. They only cost a couple of pounds and you normally get a drink and a snack. Good place to make mum friends! The libraries do rhyme time which is free a few days a week. Prettygate library has the toy library upstairs and is about £10 to join for 6 months and you can do stay and play after rhyme time. Pretty sure there’s a Colchester mums walking group on here. Make some friends on here and go round each others houses for a cuppa?

Again, not cheap, but signing up for swimming lessons is a nice one. Or perhaps looking into baby massage or baby sensory classes?

Walk in the castle park, picnics with friends, the natural history museum in town is free entry with firstsite art gallery just round the corner also being free entry, they often have arts&crafts workshops open

Berechurch family hub have a sensory room that you can book for free. They are 1 hour slots. It’s just behind Monkwick primary school.
