Apparently we don’t need to wait for signs of readiness, that’s probably why people have gone for it! A lot of people have said they just let them roam nappy free for a week, wait for a poo or wee, plop them on the potty and teach them about body cues. They’ll eventually put two and two together.

As someone that’s already gone through it with my eldest, I personally recommend waiting till they’re ready! It took my eldest 3 days and that was it, it wasn’t stressful, and it was easy.

@Emily thanks for that can I ask how old was he when u did? I think I'm going to wait just when u see posts can't help but think should I be starting too 🫣

@Shana thank u 💓

It was his 3rd birthday, that he decided to start using the toilet 😂 we had the potty out from about 18 months, but we didn’t put the pressure on him! We had only a few accidents, as he was able to tell when he needed a wee or a poo.

@Emily brilliant thank you I will probably wait until summer next year ! 🙏 I really wouldn't think my LO is ready at all.. can talk a serious amount but I can't imagine him knowing when he feels like he can go just yet
