Tried naturally before IVF cycle?

Has anyone continued to try naturally for a last time the cycle just before the scheduled IVF cycle? Thanks!

I was contemplating it but let it as could throw cycles off if something happened or miscarried etc. rather stay stable and not prolong cycle coming up

That does make sense although the argument for it is also the whole point about doing IVF is for a potential higher chance to conceive and so if one gets pregnant naturally before the IVF, that's also the same chance as a IVF isn't that right? IVF is also not guaranteed, as much as we do hope for the best outcome from it!

Oh completely depends on your circumstances like I’ve fallen pregnant twice naturally and miscarried both early which then threw cycles off. Through ivf I’ve done egg collection then frozen and also PGTA tested so know putting viable embryos in only to reduce miscarriage risks that had before

Yes me too :( Mine were Oct last Year and March this year. We are meant to start our ICSI with PGT-A if my period starts on this week but we continued to try. I've not picked up my medication yet in case we don't need it (trying to be hopeful still...). But I can't help keep thinking about the period and the cycle..

We had IVF for male factor infertility so were still having unprotected sex until the clinic told us to stop for the treatment protocol to begin. We self funded so if we could avoid the several thousands of pounds it would have been great.

Yes we're also self funding it. When did the clinic told you guys to stop for the treatment protocol to begin, was it the actual cycle ?

Yes when I started taking the medication was when they told me to stop. The first medication I took was the contraceptive pill for 2 and a half weeks, they call this pill programming to make sure you have a bleed at the expected time so the rest of your treatment falls into an expected timeframe
